To support Race Relations Day (21 March) and to celebrate the diversity
of cultures and races in Aotearoa/New Zealand, a speech contest is held
every year, sponsored by the New Zealand Bahá’í Community.
The subject of the 2010 Race Unity Speech Award is:
“Diversity in the human family”
“
The diversity in the human family should be the cause of love and
harmony as it is in music where many different notes blend together in
the making of a perfect chord”. - Bahá’í Writings.
Conditions
- Deadline for receipt of entries: Monday 8th March 2010
- Regional heats will be held in your area on 17th and 18th March 2010
- National semi-finals will take place in Auckland on Friday 9th April
- The National Finals will be held in Auckland on Saturday 10th April
- The speech awards are open to years 11, 12, 13
- A speech lasting 7-8 minutes
- Your speech can be in Te Reo Maori or in English
